The Independent National Audiology Review
The Review was commissioned by the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care, after concerns were identified in the standards of care provided by NHS Lothian Paediatric Audiology service. The Review was asked to examine hearing services and make recommendations on how these could be improved. For more information, visit Independent Review.
Newborn Hearing Screening
A newborn hearing test is a simple test that looks for a clear response from both of your baby’s ears. The test is usually done in the first few weeks after your baby is born. It may even be done before you leave the maternity unit. More information on newborn hearing screening is available on NHS Inform.
